Athletics Facilities

Opened in 2017, the Bugliari Athletics Center, known as the BAC, is a cutting-edge athletics facility that includes The Greig Family Strength and Conditioning Center, The Newhouse Family Sports Arena, eight squash courts, a large multi-sport indoor practice area, and Pingry's Athletics Hall of Fame.

Opened in 2017 (housed within the Miller A. Bugliari '52 Athletics Center), this 5,000 square foot facility includes cardiovascular and strength training equipment which is used by Pingry students, faculty, and staff. The space is large enough for multiple teams to train and use the equipment at the same time. Those who train at The Greig Family Strength and Conditioning Center have access to a full team of strength and conditioning coaches who create individual fitness and injury prevention plans tailored to each student-athlete's needs.

Home of the Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Squash Teams, the JV and Middle School teams, as well as the Big Blue Squash Programs, The Miller A. Bugliari ’52 Athletics Center features eight state-of-the-art squash courts and four separate viewing areas which overlook the action.

The Newhouse Family Sports Arena includes two full-size gymnasiums or four short-sided courts: the Lovett Gym and gymnasiums 3 and 4, with a multifunctional surface to accommodate a variety of sports training, practice, and competition all year long.

One of the most meticulously maintained soccer fields in the region, The Bugliari World Cup Field is home to Pingry boys' and girls' varsity soccer, and has been the training site for major international organizations such as Manchester United, Paris-St. Germain, Juventus, Costa Rica's national team, and many others.

Named for Reese Williams, legendary coach and athletic director from the 1920s-50s, the Varsity Baseball Field hosts interscholastic play and boasts one of the best natural grass outfields in the area.

Pingry's tennis facility includes 12 new US Open-style hard court tennis courts, which were completed in 2017. The courts include custom windscreens as well as Big Blue seating along the end of the courts and walkway areas. The tennis facility is used by Pingry's Middle School, JV and Varsity tennis teams.

Pingry boasts two pristine softball fields, allowing the Upper School Varsity and JV teams to practice in distinct spaces. Middle School softball is also offered in the spring.

Pingry's first synthetic turf field, the John Taylor Babbitt ’07 Memorial Field serves as an outstanding athletic facility for the field hockey and boys' and girls' lacrosse teams.

Upper and Middle School teams including lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey utilize the synthetic grass turf field.

Dedicated to Honorary Trustee and 1969 Letter-in-Life award recipient William S. Beinecke ’31, a member of the Board of Trustees from 1955 to 1976, Beinecke pool is home to Big Blue’s state title-winning boys’ and girls’ swim program.

One of two gymnasiums in Basking Ridge’s main building, Bristol Gymnasium is named for the late Madeleine Wild Bristol, mother and grandmother of several Pingry alumni and ardent supporter of Pingry athletics. Basketball games and physical education classes are held here, along with pep rallies and several non-athletic school events.

Shortly after the Martinsville Campus (now Basking Ridge) opened in 1984, its track was named after E. Murray Todd, Class of 1916, athlete, Pingry trustee, and 1975 recipient of the Letter-in-Life award. Parsons Turf Field, located within the track, houses Big Blue football and girls’ lacrosse games.
