Sports Medicine

Pingry's Sports Medicine Department is committed to serving our community by promoting health and wellness through athletics.  We support our student-athletes with injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.  We provide an inclusive space where student-athletes of all ability levels can feel welcome, as well as on-field immediate and emergency care.  Please come see us for anything we can do to help!

Meet Our Staff

Steve Spezio, MS, ATC, CSCS
Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine, Health Faculty

Mr. Spezio graduated from Seton Hall University with his BS in Biology in 2007 and his MS in Athletic Training in 2008.  He joined Pingry's athletic department in 2009 and works with students in the middle school and upper school for injury prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.  Mr. Spezio also teaches in the health department and provides CPR/AED and First Aid training for coaches and other Pingry faculty and staff.

 

Julia Murphy, MS, LAT, ATC
Athletic Trainer

B.A., McDaniel College
M.S., Seton Hall University

Ms. Murphy holds a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from McDaniel College. She has clinical experience as an athletic training student working in high school, college, and performing arts settings, and is BOC certified and licensed to practice in both New Jersey and New York. Ms. Murphy is a member of two national honor societies; Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Eta, and was Captain of the women's cross country and track teams at McDaniel College.

 

The Pingry School is an official Athletic Trainer preceptor for the Master's in Athletic Training program at Seton Hall University.
